MULANAY, Quezon – A 38-year-old farmer died while his 14-year-old daughter was injured after they were electrocuted while chasing a wild cat in Sitio Baog, Barangay Ilayang Yuni, here, on Monday night, June 26.
Police identified the victims as Mario Sabalboro and his daughter Marian, a Grade 8 student.
Investigation said the two residents of Sitio Cambangli, Barangay Patabog, this town, went to Sitio Baog to make charcoal and saw a wild cat which they chased until they entered the private property of Jaime Constantino Rey.
Mario accidentally touched a live wire inside the property and was electrocuted. Marian tried to help her father but was also electrocuted and lost consciousness and sustained injuries to her hands.
The elder Sabalboro died on the spot while Marian was taken to the Bondoc Peninsula District Hospital in Catanauan, Quezon.
