SANTO TOMAS, Isabela – The Department of Public and Highways on Tuesday, June 27, reported that the construction of a flood control project on the Cagayan River in Bagutari, this town, is 65 percent complete.
The DPWH-Isabela First District Engineering Office said the P49.9-million project funded under the General Appropriations Act for 2023 is composed of a 155-lineal meter concrete revetment on steel sheet piles and can protect the lives of 1,268 residents and their properties.
The project can also prevent and reduce the detrimental effects of extreme flooding, it added.
The DPWH said the project started last March 2 and is set to be opened to the public this year.
