Police identified the victim as 50-year-old Jopoeny Morata. His decomposing body was found in a sugarcane field in Hacienda Cinchita, Barangay Sag-ang. Lawmen have two persons of interest in Morata’s killing, his two stepsons. A sugarcane worker discovered the body of the victim wrapped in cement sacks and covered with sand. Morata went home drunk on Friday night, June 23, according to his live-in partner. The victim reportedly went berserk and was pacified by his two stepsons. However, they figured in a heated argument. Morata left their house and later returned. But he again figured in another argument with his stepsons. After the second argument, the victim reportedly disappeared, and was found dead three days later.
