Thai dishes, among their noteworthy characteristics, share the same core ingredients like ginger, garlic, lemongrass, chili, fish sauce, palm sugar, and lime juice, with other Southeast Asian cuisines. And yet, Thai food has a certain je ne sais quoi that makes it easily distinguishable from the delicacies of neighboring countries. Depending on the region, Thailand has complex cooking styles, which are all about balancing sweet, hot, sour, salty, and less often bitter. Its general strong and vibrant flavors are loved by many if not all.
