Two pieces of World War II vintage bombs were found inside the compound of the National Museum in Manila on Monday, June 26, the Manila Police District (MPD) reported.

The MPD-District Explosive and Canine Unit (MPD-DECU) identified the unexploded bombs as a 77-millimeter high exploded projectile and a 27-millimeter anti-aircraft cartridge.

The MPD-DECU said it received a phone call from a security officer of the National Museum Complex around 6 p.m. on Tuesday requesting explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) assistance.

The MPD responding officers immediately coordinated with the security team of the National Museum and the backhoe operator of 401 Construction and Development Corporation to remove the bombs.

The bombs were successfully removed from the area and brought to the DECU-MPD office for disposal.
