Two motorcycle riders die after colliding with LUV in Nueva Vizcaya

SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya – A motorcycle rider and his female back rider died after they collided with a light utility vehicle along a road intersection in Barangay Road, Manzano St. corner Magsaysay St., Barangay Roxas here on Saturday, June 24. The victims, who were both students, were identified as Brent Tristan T. Sobrepeña, a resident of Tabban, Pogonsino, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, and Remalyn Serquina, 15, resident of this town. Investigator-on-case, Police Staff Sgt. Augusto Ono B. Tam-og, said on Monday that Sobrepeña and his back rider were traversing Manzano St. towards the south direction while the LUV was driven by Errol John Idos, 32, editor of People's Television, and a resident of No. 23 Marcos Highway, Baguio City. The LUV was traversing the Magsaysay St. and was heading for the northern direction. The LUV and the motorcycle collided upon reaching the intersection. Due to the strong impact, Brent Tristan and the female back rider sustained serious injuries that resulted in their death. The LUV driver is now being held in the police station and is facing charges, investigators said.
