Award-winning actress Sylvia Sanchez, mother of Rep. Arjo Atayde, shared a clip of what seems to be the "pamamanhikan" of the Ataydes at the home of Maine Mendoza last Sunday, June 25.

The "pamamanhikan," which means to climb or ascend, is a traditional Filipino practice where the man, accompanied by his parents, formally asks the bride's family for approval.

Maine and Arjo got engaged on July 29, 2022.
