Sylvia Sanchez, mom of Arjo Atayde, shares clip of 'pamamanhikan' at Maine Mendoza's home

Award-winning actress Sylvia Sanchez, mother of Rep. Arjo Atayde, shared a clip of what seems to be the "pamamanhikan" of the Ataydes at the home of Maine Mendoza last Sunday, June 25. The "pamamanhikan," which means to climb or ascend, is a traditional Filipino practice where the man, accompanied by his parents, formally asks the bride's family for approval. Maine and Arjo got engaged on July 29, 2022.

In the video, Sylvia could be seen waving from her car as soon as she arrived in front of Maine's gated house. It was captioned: "The very important destination." Sylvia also used the hashtags #mainedcm #arjoatayde #casamendoza #pamamanhikan #AtaydeMendoza #family #happiness #thankuLORD Then Maine welcomed Sylvia with a smile and finger heart gesture.
