6 San Juaneño couples renew vows for golden wedding anniversaries

Six San Juaneño couples celebrated their golden wedding anniversaries by renewing their vows on Monday, June 26, which coincided with the city's Wattah! Wattah! Festival, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said. Zamora officiated the event at the city hall and congratulated the couples for their successful marriages. “Bahagi po ng programa natin para sa pamilyang San Juaneno ay ang pagkilala sa mga nananatiling kasal at magkasama sa loob ng 50 taon. Dahil kayo po ay patuloy na nagmamahalan, kayo po ay tatanggap ng P50,0000 (Part of our program for San Juaneño families is giving recognition to couples who remain married for 50 years and more. Because you remain in love and committed with each other, you will receive P50,000 from the city government)," he said. According to the mayor, the incentive is under City Ordinance No. 39, Series of 2022, also known as the Golden Wedding Anniversary Incentive Ordinance wherein couples who reached 50 years as a married couples and have passed a rigorous vetting process will receive the cash gift. To qualify, couples should reach 50 years as couples, whose marriage were registered in San Juan, and are still living together in San Juan.
