PRO 4-A seizes P220-M shabu in month-long illegal drugs operations

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A reported on Sunday, June 25, it has accumulated a total of P220 million worth of shabu and P432,782.40 marijuana during a month-long anti-illegal drug operation in the region.

PRO 4-A Director Police Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces said that the enormous seizures have significantly disrupted the drug supply chain, thwarting the attempts of criminal syndicates to distribute harmful substances within Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) communities.

Gaces said through strategic operations, dedicated law enforcement personnel, and robust community partnerships, the region has made significant strides in combating the menace of drug-related crimes from April 23 to June 23.

“A well-coordinated intelligence operations and investigations, 2,220 suspects were apprehended and involved in drug-related activities. These arrests have led to the successful prosecution of offenders, ensuring that they face the full force of the law,” Gaces said.

Calabarzon police have been fostering strong partnerships with other agencies, including the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4-A to share intelligence, resources, and expertise. This cooperative approach has enhanced the region's overall effectiveness in combating drug-related crimes, he added.

“We also recognize the crucial role of community engagement in tackling the drug problem effectively. The region has actively engaged with local communities, through the BIDA or Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan, educational campaigns, and outreach programs to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs,” said Gaces.

“The community's cooperation and support have been instrumental in identifying and reporting suspicious activities, facilitating more efficient investigations,” added Gaces.

Gaces also said that PRO-Calabarzon will remain steadfast in its mission to create a drug-free region, safeguarding the well-being and security of the residents in the region.

“Guided by the chief PNP’s 5-Focused Agenda with emphasis on Aggressive and Honest Law Enforcement Operations, our commitment to eradicating the drug menace will continue to guide the region's law enforcement strategies, ensuring the sustained progress in our collective fight against illegal drugs,” he added.
