Nartatez named new Metro Manila top cop in latest PNP revamp


Police Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr. was named as the new head of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in another major reshuffle that also affected seven other senior officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Nartatez, of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1992, replaced Police Maj. Gen. Edgar Alan Okubo who was posted as the new head of the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR).

Nartatez used to be the head of the PNP Finance Service before he was named as director of the Police Regional Office 4A which covers the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.

In the order dated June 26, the post that will be vacated by Nartatez as head of the Directorate for Intelligence will be taken over by Police Maj. Gen. Jon Arnaldo.

Arnaldo used to be the head of the Directorate for Human Resources and Doctrine Development, a post that was given to Police Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee.

The DPCR leadership which will be taken over by Okubo used to be headed by Police Maj. Gen. Mario Reyes who is now the head of the Directorate for Logistics.

On the other hand, the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) now has a new director, Police Brig. Gen. Samuel Nacion who replaced Police Maj. Gen. Eric Noble. 

Noble has taken over the leadership of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM).

From the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology Management (DICTM), Police Brig. Gen. Alan Nazarro is now the director of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
