Galvez back as Pres'l Adviser on Peace; other appointments bared

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos has appointed former Department of National Defense (DND) officer-in-charge and undersecretary Carlito Galvez Jr. as Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity. Galvez had held the same post from the administration of former president Rodrigo Duterte. When Duterte left the presidency, Galvez continued being the presidential adviser on peace until the end of 2022 "to ensure that there will be no interruption or disruption of peace programs and activities," a memorandum signed by Marcos' former executive secretary Vic Rodriguez stated. Galvez was named DND officer-in-charge on Jan. 9 following the resignation of retired Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Jose Faustino Jr. Galvez is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1985 and served as the 50th AFP chief from April 18 to December 11, 2018.
