4 Mayon evacuees catch Covid

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay – Four Mayon Volcano evacuees have tested positive for Covid-19. The Albay Provincial Health Office (PHO) said the latest to catch Covid was an evacuee from Malilipot, this province, on Monday, June 26. Jan Edmund Bailon, Albay Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit focal person, said that the patient is a 51-year-old woman from Barangay San Roque staying at the evacuation center at the San Jose National High School. Bailon said that the patient was tested after she showed Covid symptoms. Last week, three evacuees at Gabawan Elementary School in Daraga, Albay also tested positive for Covid. Bailon said that the first case was an 81-year-old woman from Barangay Matnog in Daraga.
