The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has allocated P477 million for 225 new Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs) to be used by local government units (LGUs) for medical purposes.

"Ang PTV program ay nilaanan ng halagang Apat na Daan at Pitumput-pitong Milyon P477M piso para sa 225 na PTV (The PTV program allotted four hundred seventy-seven million pesos (P477 million) for 225 new PTVs)," PCSO stated. In a post on Sunday, June 25, PCSO announced that it signed a contract with Toyota Otis, Inc. for the new vehicles. The contract signing was spearheaded by the PCSO Assistant General Manager Larry R. Cedro, Charity Assistance Department Manager Marissa O. Medrano, and Renato R. Gregorio as Toyota representative at the PCSO Conservatory Building in Mandaluyong City on June 23.

“Ang PTV ay programa ng PCSO na tumutukoy sa pagkakaloob ng mga sasakyang pang-medikal na ginagamit pang-transportasyon ng mga Pamahalaang Lokal sa probinsiya, munisipyo at lungsod (The PTV is a program of the PCSO which provides vehicles for medical purposes to be used for transportation in local government in provinces, municipalities, and cities),” PCSO wrote. Meanwhile, PCSO noted that this program's recipients would mostly be from rural places where public transportation remains challenging.
