Of second chances, skills, love, and prayers

And after my confinement, it’s a pleasure to be at this culinary fiesta

Allow us to start this day with sincere thanksgiving prayers for a New Day, a second chance to live life in the light of the Divine Will. I had another harrowing encounter with the Grim Reaper last week with recurring bleeding and had to be confined.

My beloved doctor and urologist, JV Prodigalidad, and his team worked on me (again for the third time) tirelessly. By God’s mercy, I am home. I realize it can happen again but everything is in God’s hands as well as in the expertise of the excellent team of Dr. Prodigalidad, including Dr. Samantha Claire Braganza of Anaesthesiology, Dr. Carmen Chungunco of Internal Medicine, Dr. Trinidad Marquez of Pain Management, resident doctors Ongkeko, Songco, and Sy. To those whose names I missed, my heartfelt apologies. All of you were caring and supportive. I realize I was bratty at that time, especially when it came to blood extractions, mea culpa. I now realize how precious Assure adult diapers can be, fashion be set aside for comfort. Remember, dear readers, it takes lots of love, skills, faith, and prayers for second chances.

A culinary fiesta
And now it’s time to check out a most joyful event at the picturesque hotel by the bay, Conrad Manila. After my confinement, it’s a pleasure to be at this culinary fiesta. Conrad Manila proudly launched its Legendary Chefs Series, which will feature international cuisines from three world-renowned master chefs.

“We want our guests, patrons, and food lovers to indulge in a feast of Chef Mink’s meticulously crafted dishes, which the Land of Smiles can best offer. To complement your dining experience, Brasserie on 3 also offers enticing add-ons. Choose the unlimited non-alcoholic beverages for P480 nett or elevate your celebration with the unlimited alcoholic beverages offer, including house white or red wine, as well as local beer, for P980 nett.

Legendary Chefs by Conrad Manila is a three-part series, which will celebrate the finest culinary masterpieces by some of the world’s premier chefs every month, from June to August 2023. Next in line are celebrity chef Jereme Leung, who will once again bring new and distinct flavors to your Chinese gastronomic favorites in July, and Chef Valerio Pierantonelli, who will make you fall in love with his Italian signature dishes in August.

Chef Juthakorn, also known as Mink, is an accomplished culinary professional with an impressive background in the hospitality industry, particularly in renowned Thailand hotels. With 14 years of culinary experience, Chef Mink currently holds a position of Assistant Executive Sous Chef at Waldorf Astoria Bangkok. He has been an integral part of the hotel’s pre-opening team since February 2018, when he initially joined as a sous chef for banqueting.
