LTO-NCR discusses ways to address shortage of driver's license plastics cards
Top officials of the Land Transportation Office in the National Capital Region have met and discussed strategies to improve the agency’s services in Metro Manila, including strategies to address the shortage of plastic cards for driver’s license.
LTO-NCR director Roque Verzosa said the meeting was attended by 66 chiefs in Metro Manila and was aimed at aligning the goals, vision, and values of the offices as well as providing updates and distributing information from the division chiefs.
“We also identified the best practices in some of our offices which could be replicated in all other offices to improve our services to the people,” said Verzosa.
During the meeting, Assistant Regional Director Hanzley H. Lim presented strategies on how to effectively address the backlog once the office receives the necessary supplies.
Also discussed during the meeting were the establishment of LTO licensing office at Ayala Malls South Park; extension of the period for the moderation of the implementation of the LTMS (Land Transportation Management System) for new new registration until July 31 this year, along with the adoption of supplementary procedures; authority granted to process applications for a Driver's License with Examination at the LTO Quezon City District Office; delegation of the Inspection of Accredited Medical Clinics to Heads of Offices within their Geographical Areas of Responsibility (GAOR); and use of Improvised or Temporary Motor Vehicle Plates.
Verzosa also emphasized the importance of regularly conducting anti-fixing activities and monitoring private stakeholders such as driving schools and medical clinics.
