K-drama ‘King the Land’ ups ratings for episode 3; reaches 10% in Korea’s metropolitan area  


The ratings for the Korean romantic comedy series “King the Land,” starring Lee Junho and Yoona, continued to increase and reached 10 percent in the metropolitan area in South Korea.

“King the Land” aired its episode 3 on June 24, which showed Gu Won (Junho), a chaebol (family-owned conglomerate) heir, and smile-girl Cheon Sa-rang (Yoona) spending the night on an island.

According to polling firm Nielsen Korea, episode 3 of “King the Land” received a nationwide rating of 9.145 percent in South Korea and took the No. 1 spot among shows on comprehensive programming channels. 

This is 1.6 percentage points higher than the 7.544 percent nationwide rating for episode 2 on June 18. It was watched by 2.03 million people nationwide.  

“King the Land” is aired on JTBC in South Korea and on Netflix. 

In the metropolitan area (Gyeonggi, Incheon and Seoul), episode 3 of “King the Land” garnered a rating of 10.671 percent, the first time that it breached the 10-percent mark. 

This is higher by 2.41 percentage points compared to 8.255 percent for episode 3. It was watched by 1.13 million people in the metropolitan area.
