“Though you have departed from this physical world, your presence will eternally be cherished within our hearts. I write this message filled with profound love and gratitude for the beautiful moments we shared as a couple and as parents to our beloved children, Trisha and Joy, Dondi and Fran,” he posted on Facebook.
He added, “Your absence will leave a void that can never be filled but I will find solace in the memories we forged during our time together. The laughter, the tears, the support—we experienced it all, and those moments will forever remain embedded in my soul.”
“I want to take a moment to express my undying love and gratitude to you, my dearest Mira. Your love has shaped our lives in ways words cannot adequately express. Though we cannot be together in the physical realm, I believe our souls are forever connected, bound by an unbreakable bond,” according to Bunye.
He said, “I will miss you deeply, Mira. But through the love and memories we hold close, you will forever remain an integral part of our lives. May your soul rest in eternal peace in the bosom of our Lord, knowing that you are cherished and loved beyond measure.”
In a past Facebook post, Bunye said his wife was diagnosed with progressive non-fluent aphasia in January 2014.
“Progressive non-fluent aphasia not only resulted in a gradual loss of her memory. It also rendered Mira totally incapable of speech, unable to ingest food orally, and to do her normal physical activities. She can not even write her name,’ he said.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon expressed his condolences to Bunye.
“Deepest condolences to Sec. Toting Bunye for the passing of his beloved wife Dra. Mira. Our family’s thoughts and prayers are with the Bunye family. We saw how much he loved Doc Mira and how he took care of her. May God take her in His embrace in Heaven,” he said.
