PCG finds another body near sunken 'Genesis 2'; death toll rises to 3
Another crew member of fishing boat “Genesis 2” was found dead in the vicinity waters where the vessel sank in Baganga, Davao Oriental, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) revealed Saturday, June 24.

* The unidentified victim was found by search and rescue (SAR) teams of PCG Station Davao Oriental around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 23. This brought the death toll from the fatal incident to three. “[The body] was found in the vicinity waters where the maritime accident happened,” said PCG communications officer Joy Diane Gumatay. The PCG Station Davao Oriental also reported that Genesis 2 had completely sunk. SAR operations were being carried out by BRP Tubbataha (MRRV-4401) to find the remaining six crew members who went missing due to the incident. It was carrying 23 Filipino crew members, 14 of them had been rescued.
