Maroons against Red Lions; Cardinals versus Generals in do-or-die games

After an undefeated run in the eliminations that gave them the twice-to-beat bonus, the Fighting Maroons, who missed the services of Malick Diouf, JD Cagulangan, and Francis "LeBron" Lopez suffered their first loss. Four other Fighting Maroons finished in double digits – Gerry Abadiano (12), Harold Alarcon (11), Chicco Briones (10), Chris Hubilla (10). San Beda and UP dispute a place in the semifinals at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Activate Hoop Arena inside the Sparta Compound Pioneer in Mandaluyong City. Adrian Nocum, Christopher Recto, and Clint Escamis each scored 12 points as Mapua also forced a knockout match with a 88-71 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College. The Cardinals and the Generals for a spot in the Final Four at 1 p.m. Ateneo and National University earned the first two semis spots after disposing their respective quarterfinals foes in the tournament backed by Pinoyliga, Kick-Start Coffee, Slicktight Pomade, Antbox, Smart, Ducksports, Exile Lights and Sound and Excellent Print. The Bulldogs, with Jake Figueroa and Kenshin Padrones teaming up for 22 points, pulled off a 76-61 win against College of Saint Benilde.
