SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Region 1 (Ilocos) led by Director Ronnel M. Tan was awarded as the Most Outstanding Regional Office for Calendar Year 2022 during the agency’s 125th anniversary celebration at the central office in Manila on Friday, June 23.

In addition to the Most Outstanding Regional Office recognition, two district engineering offices in the region were honored for their exceptional performances in the past year. They were the Pangasinan Second District Engineering Office headed by District Engineer (DE) Editha L. Manuel which was awarded first runner-up and the Pangasinan Fourth District Engineering Office led by OIC Assistant Regional Director and concurrent District Engineer Mathias L. Malenab which was named as the Most Outstanding District Engineering Office. These offices showcased remarkable achievements in implementing innovative engineering solutions and ensuring the successful completion of vital infrastructure projects. Their exceptional performances played a pivotal role in enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the DPWH in providing essential services to the Filipino people. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was the guest of honor and commended the outstanding achievements of the awardees.
