Professor Clarita Carlos has expressed disdain over foreign singers or recording artists who only consider performing in the Philippines once they're already considered has-beens. Carlos, House Speaker Martin Romualdez's chief adviser, aired this sentiment in a Facebook post Saturday, June 24. "These foreign artists will do their concerts here only when they are OLD and SCRAGGLY...," she wrote, the emphasis on the adjectives hers. "But, some continue to worship them...PATHETIC," added Carlos, as she frowned at those who supposedly patronize such concerts. She did not mention any specific foreign act in her mini-rant. Carlos, President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s former national security adviser, is known for her Filipino first mentality.
