PH Red Cross continues Mayon Volcano relief assistance

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) volunteers and staff have been helping in various Albay evacuation centers to provide assistance to the Mayon-affected families.

On June 22, PRC food trucks arrived at Bariw Elementary School and Bariw National High School to give 937 evacuees fresh and nutritious meals. Meanwhile, in the municipality of Sto. Domingo, Albay, PRC distributed 55,000 liters of water to Mauraro High School, Guinobatan Community College, Sto. Domingo Central School, San Jose Elementary School, Sitio Sojoton, and Bical, assisting a total of 4,866 households. Moreover, PRC welfare desks provided Child-Friendly Space activities and psychological first aid to ensure the emotional well-being of evacuees. PRC commended the volunteers and staff members working tirelessly. ”None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of the truly amazing volunteers and generous donors,” it said. "Their efforts significantly influence the lives of individuals impacted by the volcanic eruption," it added. *(Rhowen Del Rosario)*
