Duterte enjoins DepEd employees to remain 'persevering' to implement reforms in basic education

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte enjoined employees of the Department of Education (DepEd) to continue their efforts to ensure the reforms in the country’s basic education are implemented.

“I encourage you to remain persevering in our shared advocacies while we steadfastly implement basic education reforms, plans, and programs that align with our common goals for national development,” Duterte said in her message for DepEd’s 125th Founding Anniversary on Friday, June 23. From June 19 to 23, DepEd celebrated its [125th Founding Anniversary.](https://mb.com.ph/2023/6/22/958-k-dep-ed-teaching-non-teaching-personnel-to-receive-anniversary-bonus-starting-june-23-1) “As we remain true to the call of public service, we offer our selfless duty to enable Filipino learners to realize their full potential and hone them to become the future workforce and active builders of our nation,” Duterte said. “Thus, we commit to better serve our DepEd as a public institution that is founded on our mission to protect and promote the right of every Filipino child to quality and complete basic education,” she added.
