2 farm-to-market roads worth P8 M completed in Quirino


CAMP MELCHOR F. DELA CRUZ, Upi, Gamu, Isabela – Two farm-to-market roads worth P8 million under the Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) have been completed in Aglipay, Quirino.

Major Rigor Pamittan, spokesperson of the Army 5th Infantry Division, said that the two newly constructed FMRs were formally turned over by officials of the local government of Aglipay and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Region 2 (Cagayan Valley) to residents in Barangays Alicia and Nagabgaban on June 14.

“Residents of the two barangays are the beneficiaries of SBDP projects as part of the Whole-of-Nation Approach of the government to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC),” Pamittan said.

“Each FMR has a P4 million allocated budget for its construction and the total project cost is P8 million,” he added.

Pamittan said that the SBDP is one of the mechanisms of Executive Order No. 70 which aims to achieve inclusive and sustainable development and it is one of the government’s priority programs to help in the development and delivery of basic services in far-flung barangays to improve the quality of life of residents.
