Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan gave loyalty awards to some 576 local government employees during the City's Service Loyalty Awards held at the Metropolitan Theater, Ermita, Manila on Wednesday, June 21. "Walang kapalit na halaga ang makapaghatid ng tulong o makaalalay sa kapwa sa araw araw nating pagtratrabaho sa loob at labas ng city hall. Ito ang pinahahalagahan natin sa pamamagitan ng pagpaparangal sa inyo (There is no substitute for the service we give to others inside and outside of city hall. We appreciate this by honoring you)," Lacuna- Pangan said. The mayor said the recognition ceremony is an annual event in line with the celebration of Manila Day but was discontinued in 2020 due to the pandemic. The 576 workers were composed of officials, personnel, and staff from various local departments who have dedicated more than two decades of their lives to the city. The city government noted that 176 of the awardees have performed duties in the city hall for 25 years, 247 of them for 30 years, 123 for 35 years, 17 for 40 years, and 13 officials for more than 40 years. The awardees received certificates and cash gifts for their dedication to public service. Manila Vice Mayor John Marvin "Yul Servo" Nieto thanked the city employees for their devotion to service. "Nararapat na bigyan kayo ng pagkilala dahil sa walang kapantay ninyong serbisyo katuwang and pamahalaang lungsod ng Maynila. Bihira ang pinakita ninyong dedikasyon sa pagiging lingkod bayan at ang tanging nais naming ipakita sa inyo ay aming lubos na pasasalamat. Saludo po kami sa inyong lahat (You deserve to be recognized for your unparalleled service in partnership with the city government of Manila. You have shown dedication as public servants and all we want to show you is our deepest gratitude. We salute you all)," the vice mayor said.
