The City of Manila announced on Thursday, June 22, the closure of some roads in the capital city for the celebration of "Araw ng Maynila" on Saturday, June 24.
The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) said the road closure is in line with the Civic Military Parade.
The parade aims to gather locals, civic groups, government agencies, private entities, and various organizations to march along the streets in the city to show their support for Manila Day.
The following roads will be closed starting at 6 a.m. on Saturday:
* Stretch of Moriones Street from Mel Lopez Boulevard to Nicolas Zamora Street * Stretch of J. Nolasco Street from Morga Street to Concha Street * Stretch of Sta. Maria Street from Morga Street to Concha Street
The public is advised to take alternative routes to avoid traffic gridlocks. All vehicles coming from N. Zamora intending to utilize Moriones Street going to Mel Lopez Boulevard should turn left to Moriones Street to Dagupan Street to the point of destination. All vehicles coming from J. Nolasco and Sta. Maria Street intending to utilize Moriones Street should turn left to Concha Street and turn right to N. Zamora Street to the point of destination. All vehicles coming from Morga Street intending to utilize J. Nolasco Street and Sta. Maria Street going to Moriones Street should turn left to Juan Luna Street to the point of destination. All vehicles coming from Mel Lopez Boulevard intending to utilize Moriones Street shall go straight to Radial Road 10, then turn right to Capulong. "Gaya ng pangako namin, apat na buwan lang po namin tatapusin ang rehabilitation ng Lagusnilad, so far naman on target kami (As we promised, we will finish the rehabilitation of Lagusnilad in just four months. So far, we are on target)," she added. *(Richielyn Canlas)*
