1 dead, 8 hurt in car-ambulance collision in Batangas

SAN PASCUAL, Batangas – A man died and eight were injured in a collision between an ambulance and a car on New Diversion Road, Barangay Bayanan, here on Wednesday night, June 21. Police identified the fatality as Raymund Barrion. Initial investigation said Barrion’s Mitsubishi Lancer with license plates XDY-952 collided head-on with the east-bound ambulance on the opposite lane at about 10 p.m. Barrion and occupants of the ambulance – Alfredo Cabali, driver; Welcon Lubay, Jerico Magsino, Cecilia Capucion, Teresita Cabali, Anthony Capusion, Mercedita Magsino, and Antonio Capucion – sustained injuries and were taken by first responders to the hospital. The fatality was declared dead on arrival at the St. Pascal de Baylon Hospital.
