64-year-old man nabbed for frustrated homicide in QC
A 64-year-old man was arrested by members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Project 6 Station (PSÂ Â 15) for frustrated homicide after he shot a taxi driver along Mindanao Avenue, Barangay, Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City on Wednesday, June 21.
Lt. Col. Richard Mepania, PS 15 commander, identified the suspect as Dionisio Trube Jr., of Bongabon,  Nueva Ecija.
Police said that at around 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the suspect flagged down a taxi driven by the victim, Daniel Tranquiña. The victim refused to take Trube as his passenger which led to a heated argument.
The suspect pulled out a gun and shot Tranquiña in his abdomen.
The witness, Benjie Buas, an Angkas driver, brought the victim to the hospital for treatment.Â
He also sought help from PS 15 which led to the immediate arrest of the suspect.
Seized from Trube were a Taurus cal .357 loaded with four live ammunition; one fired cartridge case; and a deformed fired bullet.
