The Las Piñas City government offered free x-ray services to its residents at the Santos Village III covered court in Barangay Zapote on June 16.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the program, initiated by the City Health Office (CHO), aimed to identify cases of pulmonary tuberculosis at an early stage to ensure timely intervention and management.
By conducting free chest x-ray and sputum collection, health officials can screen for signs of TB and promptly offer appropriate treatment, Aguilar added.
She also said the proactive approach of the CHO officials aims to raise awareness about tuberculosis and promote early detection within the community.
The mayor added that by detecting TB cases early, afflicted individuals can receive proper treatment and reduce the risk of transmission to others.
Through the active case finding activity and the provision of free chest x-ray services, Aguilar said the CHO demonstrates its commitment to promoting public health and in addressing tuberculosis within the community.
Aguilar said these efforts will reduce the incidence of TB and improve the overall well-being of city residents.
