CEBU CITY – Five Koreans were injured in a road accident in Barangay Langtad, Argao town, southern Cebu early Wednesday, morning, June 21.

A TOURIST van was badly damaged after it fell on its side when its driver lost control of the wheel while driving in Barangay Langtad, Argao, Cebu on Wednesday morning, June 21. (Photo from Argao Police Station) The five Koreans were aboard a tourist van on their way to Oslob town for a whale-watching activity when the accident happened past 5 a.m. The driver of the van was identified as Ramil Purog, 49, a resident of Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City. According to the Argao police, Purog admitted that he was driving at high speed when the accident occurred. He said they were in a hurry so they could catch the schedule of the whale-watching activity in Oslob. Purog said he lost control of the vehicle when the wheel fell off the edge of the concrete road. The van was badly damaged after it fell on its side. Luckily, the passengers only sustained minor injuries. The passengers were identified as Lee Wankeun, Donggyu Yu, Lee Mookyung, Si Ha Eunjo, and Lee Youngseo. Wankeun and Yu served as the group’s tour guides. Emergency responders from the Argao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office brought the victims to the Isidro C. Kintanar Memorial Hospital for treatment.
