"Royal Gala 2023" was a trailblazing charity event organized by De La Salle University in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati Olympia and Rotary International District 3830. It was established to honor distinct individuals who have contributed significantly to the community. The event also raised funds to extend help to "Tulungan Is The New Normal"  beneficiaries and the less fortunate children of Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.

Cited for their contributions to community service were several personalities "whose hearts beat with a passion to serve." These are Alger Brion of One LaSalle SoCal, director Jess Nazarene Macatuggal of Komedya ng Don Galo, BM Jayvee Badile of Sunlife Philippines, Chef Czarina Sevilla of Avocadoria, and Hyacinth Luansing of FDM Training Center.

The last awardee was Rotary Club 3830 Governor Mildred Vitangcol  who was escorted by her husband, York Vitangcol. They were joined by the Rotary Club of Makati Olympia led by their president, Dr. Mary Ann Paranpan.

Some alumni guests flew all the way from California and they were welcomed by prof. Randy Nonato of the DLSU Alumni Association.

Congratulations are in order for the event leaders Dr. Joaquin Moreno and Louise Macatuggal. The charity gala did not just showcase accomplishments and talents. It also sparked inspiration, not only among the attendees, but also other stakeholders to practice "Tulungan" and make it the new normal. (Annalyn S. Jusay)
