BAGUIO CITY – The Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug-Clearing (ROCBDC) of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera has declared five barangays in the region drug-free during a meeting on June 9.
PDEA-Cordillera Director Julius Paderes said these five barangays were Bakakeng Central, Irisan, Loakan Proper, and Lourdes Subdivision Extension here and Pico, La Trinidad, Benguet.
Paderes said the ROCBDC has also issued resolutions affirming the drug-cleared status of 13 barangays – Colabaoan, San Juan, Abra; O-ong, Hingyon, Ifugao; Barangays Burnaya, Cudog, Montabiong, Poblacion East, Poblacion North, Poblacion South, Poblacion West, and Tungngod, in Lagawe, Ifugao; and Barangays Maducayan, Poblacion, and Saliok in Natonin, Mountain Province.
Nine Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils also received resolutions affirming the absence of active drug personalities that qualified them to apply for verification of drug-free status.
These are Daga, Guinaang, Guinamgaman, Ili, Katablangan, Mawigue, Nabuangan, Puguin, and Talifao, in Conner, Apayao.
