Parañaque gov't holds social pension payout to indigent senior citizens

The Parañaque City government held its social pension payout to indigent senior citizens on Monday, June 19 at the Old Barangay San Dionisio gym.

According to Mayor Eric Olivarez, a total of 2,164 indigent senior citizens in Barangay San Dionisio received their social pension.

He said a total of 13,000 indigent senior citizens from District 1 and 2 will receive their social pension until July 3. Â Â Â

The mayor said senior citizens who were not able to receive their social pension on their scheduled date may still claim it on July 4 at the Old Barangay San Dionisio gym for District 1 residents, while District 2 residents may claim their pension from Area 1 covered court in Fourth Estate Subdivision.

Olivarez also announced that aside from the social pension, the city government will also distribute next month the birthday cash gift or senior citizens.

He said senior citizens 60 to 74 years old will receive P5,000; those who are 75 to 84 years old will get P1,000, and those 85 years old and above will receive P2,000.

The mayor was joined by Congressman Edwin Olivarez and Office of Senior Citizen Affairs Assistant officer-in-charge Evelyn Luching.
