Octogenarian dies after being hit by speeding motorcycle in Negros
BACOLOD CITY – An 85-year-old man died after he was hit by an allegedly speeding motorcycle in front of a public cemetery in Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Monday, June 19.

Gil John Despi, Cadiz police chief, said a 28-year-old motorcycle rider probably failed to notice the victim who was crossing the road. The victim was brought to a hospital but he later passed away, according to Despi. Despi said the motorcycle rider was released from police custody after the lapse of the 18-hour reglementary detention. The victim’s family has yet to decide on the filing of a case, he added.
