DepEd officials, personnel to receive P3K anniversary bonus

As stated in the department order posted on the DepEd website on Tuesday, June 20, Vice President and Secretary Sara Z. Duterte approved the granting of the anniversary bonus to all DepEd officials and employees who have rendered at least one year of service in the department. DepEd No. 11 s. of 2023 or the Policy on the Grant of the Anniversary Bonus in the Department of Education was signed by Duterte on June 19. Citing Administrative Order No. 322 issued by former President Fidel Ramos, DepEd said that its founding anniversary is on June 23. This, the agency said, is the “basis in determining the milestone year of the Department for the purpose of granting the anniversary bonus to its officials and employees.” DepEd explained the anniversary bonus is “granted” to officials and employees of government agencies on the Milestone Years of the agency. “Milestone years are defined as the 15th anniversary of the government agency and every 5th year thereafter,” DepEd said. Meanwhile, DepEd noted that the count of the milestone years “shall start from the year the government agency was created regardless of whether it was subsequently renamed or reorganized provided that its original primary functions have not substantially changed.” Related to this, DepEd said that the newly-issued order will take effect starting Fiscal Year 2023 and succeeding milestone years “unless otherwise repealed, rescinded or modified accordingly.”
