Juan Gomez de Liano is heading back to Asia to play for his third overseas team, this time signing with Korean Basketball League finalists Seoul SK Knights.

Gomez de Liano struck a three-year deal with Seoul and was welcomed by the team on a social media post on Tuesday, June 20.

"Guard from Philippines, via asia computer 'Gomez de Liano' has joined," they wrote.

"With high elasticity and strong defense. Point guard and shooting guard positions that can digest both. Looking forward to a great performance from Liano," it continued.

The 23-year-old guard previously played in the Japan B.League Division II team Earthfriends Tokyo Z which ended midway through the season on a “mutual agreement” in January 2022 before finding his footing in a Lithuanian club nine months later.

The former UP Fighting Maroon signed with the BC Wolves in October 2022.

During his European stint, Gomez de Liano failed to make it to the starting lineup in all of the seven games he played in. He averaged 3.0 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists in those limited appearances.

Before moving to Europe, Gomez de Liano actually saw action for the Marinerong Pilipino in the 2022 PBA D-League Aspirant’s Cup where he was hailed Most Valuable Player.

The SK Knights are reeling from their seven-game KBL finals defeat against Filipino import Rhenz Abando’s Anyang KGC.

Seoul led the series 3-2 and was up big in Game 6 before Anyang forced a sudden death and eventually won the championship title.
