2 arrested for possession of illegal drugs, improvised handgun in Pasay City
Members of the Pasay police sub-station 5 conducted “Oplan Sita” that led to the arrest of two men, one of them a minor, on Monday, June 19.
Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen, Kirby John Brion Kraft identified the suspects as Ronniel Hermogeno,21 and alias Dic, 17.
Kraft said that based on the report of the Pasay City police, members of the Sub-Station 5 conducted “Oplan Sita” at around 4:45 a.m. along EDSA Extension corner Park Avenue, Barangay 79, Zone 10 land found the suspects in possession of drugs and an improvised handgun.
The Pasay city police, headed by Col. Froilan Uy, had earlier flagged down the suspects on board a motorcycle for not wearing their helmets.
Uy said the suspects disregarded the policemen and tried to escape. They collided with a taxi that led to their arrest.
Recovered from the suspects were one black Mio Scooter without plate a number, two grams of shabu worth P13,600, and an improvised handgun.
The city police chief said charges of illegal possession of firearms and drugs, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority, and reckless imprudence were filed against the suspects.
