Russia on Friday celebrated the 47th year of Russia-Philippines diplomatic relations, saying lawmakers, ministries and agencies of both countries "have been effective in working together."
In a statement posted on Telegram, the Russian Ministry for Foreign Affairs congratulated its colleagues and friends in Manila for such a milestone.
It said both countries have a vast experience in "constructive bilateral cooperations" in various sectors as well as in working within the United Nations.
There has also been positive momentum in trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, Russia noted, as annual trade has been amounting to US$ 1 billion for several years.
Efforts to expand humanitarian ties also carry on, it added.
"Today, our two nations maintain friendly relations and the Philippines is one of Russia's key partners in the Asia-Pacific Region," the ministry said.
"[We] are certain that Russia and the Philippines will keep generating positive momentum for further strengthening our relations," it added.
