Marcos rallies support for Pinoy para athletes

Through a Twitter post on Thursday, June 1, Marcos wished the national athletes good luck, saying the nation rallies behind them. "We wish our national para athletes the best of luck as they compete at the 12th ASEAN Para Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia!" the President said. "Your perseverance makes our nation proud and we rally behind you as you exemplify the true Filipino spirit," he added. The team[Philippines will kick off its campaign in the regional meet on Friday,](https://mb.com.ph/2023/6/1/team-ph-opens-asean-para-games-bid-in-wheelchair-3x3-basketball) with the men's team facing Indonesia in wheelchair basketball's 3x3 competition. The Filipinos bagged the silver medal last year. Their game against Indonesia will be followed by the matches against Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia.
