Manila, Guangzhou sign Friendship City agreement

The City of Manila signed a Friendship City Agreement with the Chinese city of Guangzhou on Thursday, June 1, at the Manila City Hall. Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna Pangan signed the agreement with Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Deputy Director General Tu Hongze who represented Guangzhou Mayor Guo Yonghang. "Thank you for gracing this special occasion which marks an important milestone in the partnership and sisterhood of cities. It is truly remarkable to witness our two cities separated by geographical distance and cultural differences forge friendship and provide each other equal support," Lacuna-Pangan said. The event was also attended by the department heads of the Manila City Hall. Lacuna-Pangan said the ceremonial signing of the Friendship City Agreement with Hongze sealed their collaboration for future initiatives that will be beneficial to both cities.
