Lipa Archdiocese plans to build six new parishes


The Archdiocese of Lipa, headed by Archbishop Gilbert Garcera, announced a plan to expand the archdiocese by establishing six additional parishes encompassing the entire province of Batangas.

"In response to the pastoral needs of the growing population in the archdiocese," Garcera said in a statement posted on CBCP News.

The new parishes will be built in Brgy. Laiya is located in the town of San Juan, in Brgy. In the municipality of Calaca, as well as in Brgy. Pinagbayanan in Taysan town.

The remaining three will be located in the barangays of Anilao in Mabini Town, Manghinao in Bauan Town, and Natunuan in San Jose Town, respectively.

The archbishop ordered all parish priests in the villages to prepare for the new parishes.

However, Garcera suggested that the education of the faithful could be done through catechesis and evangelization sessions until a priest-in-charge was chosen. (Rhowen Del Rosario)
