CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – The Police Regional Office-13 apprehended 267 wanted persons in the Caraga region last month.
Police Regional Office-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said 47 were most wanted persons while 220 were other wanted persons.
Labra said the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) arrested 64, including the No. 1 most wanted person in the region, a New People’s Army member who was charged with three counts of murder, five counts of frustrated murder, and attempted murder.
The suspect was a member of Weakened Guerilla Front 19, Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabidad (SRSDG), Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) who took part in numerous NPA atrocities in Caraga.
Butuan City Police Office had 59, Agusan del Sur PPO, 55; Surigao del Norte PPO, 52; Agusan del Norte, 28; and Dinagat Islands PPO, nine.
Five were most wanted persons on the regional level, 16 on the provincial level, and 26 on the municipal level.
“These figures are the translations of the efforts exerted by our operatives on the ground to account for individuals sought by the law,” Labra said.
“The relentless campaign continued to ensure that our streets are peaceful and safe from the presence of wanted personalities,” Labra added.
