Woman, 70, arrested for killing house help in Davao City

DAVAO CITY – Police arrested a 70-year-old woman after she allegedly killed her house help and later left her body on the street at Deca Homes Subdivision in Barangay Cabantian here on Sunday, June 18. The Davao City Police Office identified the victim as Shiela Han-ay Lagsaway, 29, from Don Marcelino municipality in Davao Occidental. Closed-circuit television camera footage obtained by authorities showed the suspect, Nenita Cepada Pagatpatan, pulling a trolley loaded with the victim’s body covered with tarpaulin. Shortly after her arrest, police brought Pagatpatan to the Southern Philippines Medical Center here for medical assistance when she experienced shortness of breath and then collapsed. The body of the victim was brought to Rivera Funeral Homes in Barangay Sasa here for autopsy. Authorities condemned the crime. “Dabawenyos are advised to observe the culture of security in order to maintain the peace and tranquillity of the city,” the DCPO said.
