Philippines' National Privacy Commission appointed as the First Fee-Funded Secretariat of the Global Privacy Assembly

The Philippines' National Privacy Commission (NPC) has been appointed as the first Fee-Funded Secretariat of the Global Privacy Assembly (GPA). The GPA's Executive Committee made the appointment, which comprises representatives from the GPA's 130-member data protection and privacy authorities. The GPA is an international organization that seeks to provide leadership in data privacy and protection. It was founded in 1979 as the International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners, and it has since grown to become the world's largest and most influential organization of its kind.
