Kakampink Guanzon approves of this VP Duterte advocacy

Proud kakampink Rowena Guanzon wrote a supportive tweet for Vice President Sara Duterte after learning one of the latter's advocacies. Guanzon, a P3PWD Party-list nominee, found out that Duterte was a backer of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression Equality (SOGIE) Bill--a measure that benefits the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community. "VP Sara supports SOGIE Bill. Show more stuff like this, gurl," Guanzon recently tweeted, as if egging on the Vice President. The SOGIE Bill aims to protect individuals from discrimination based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression. The measure has made modest progress in the House of Representatives in the current 19th Congress. At least seven bills on SOGIE are being discussed at the technical working group (TWG) level in the House. These are House Bill (HB) Nos. 222, 460, 3418, 4277, 5551, 6003, and 7036. Typically, bills are consolidated and enhanced by solons during the TWG phase. It was during the election campaign period last year when then-Davao City Mayor Duterte said that she was part of the LGBTQ community. "Paano ko ba hindi mahalin yung LGBT, eh LGBT din ako (How can I not love the LGBT when I'm also LGBT)," Duterte said during a meet and greet with members of the LGBTQ sector in Quezon City on Thursday, March 10, 2022. The Vice President is the eldest daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
