OVP awards DOLE-Western Visayas for livelihood programs to the poor


ILOILO CITY – The Office of the Vice President has bestowed the Pasidungog Award to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Region 6 (Western Visayas) for providing livelihood programs to the poor.

“The award is a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact we can achieve when we work together towards a common goal," said DOLE-Region 6 Director Sixto Rodriguez Jr.

The Pasidungog Award which honored the various partners of Vice President Sara Duterte in implementing various programs and projects recognized DOLE-6 for its collaborative efforts with the satellite office of the OVP in Bacolod City.

Under the DOLE Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program, the OVP was able to reach out to the marginalized in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.

Rodriguez said that receiving the award is not just about recognition. “It is a challenge to continue doing our part in creating a better future for our country,” added Rodriguez.
