Manny Pacquiao's legendary trainer Freddie Roach gets married

Legendary trainer Freddie Roach tied the knot with his longtime partner Marie Spivey on Saturday, June 17.
The 63-year-old trainer had a simple but meaningful ceremony in true boxing fashion — inside the ring. “Made it official! Thank you to everyone!” Roach said in an Instagram post. Roach, who’s widely regarded as one of the best boxing trainers of all time, received well wishes including one from his most successful student Manny Pacquiao in a tweet. “Mazel Tov, Marie and @FreddieRoach on your wedding today. A lifetime of happiness to you both,” said Pacquiao. In June 2001, the Roach and Pacquiao partnership began when the American trainer handled the Filipino boxer-turned-politician in his United States debut to get him prepared for a shot at the IBF Super Bantamweight title against Lehlohonolo Ledwaba. The two went on to part ways 15 years later while Pacquiao became the only eight-division world champion in the history of boxing.
