Public viewing at the main building of the Muntinlupa City hall is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. It will be temporarily stopped from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a necrological service, which will be broadcast live on Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon’s Facebook page.

Among the positions he held, Biazon served as Muntinlupa’s congressman from 2010 to 2016.

June 18 is Father’s Day and according to Mayor Biazon, the ex-senator’s son, “Today is the most significant Fathers Day in my life. I love you Papa! You’re the Greatest Of All Time!”

In a post, Mayor Biazon honored his father for his dedication to the country and serving the people with “the same passion and integrity.”

“From humble beginnings, he faced numerous struggles during his childhood. As a working student, he exemplified resilience and perseverance, studying in the evenings while working as a construction worker on Highway 54 (now known as EDSA). These early experiences shaped his character and instilled in him a deep understanding of the value of hard work and determination,” the mayor said.

He added, “Through his unwavering dedication, he overcame obstacles and achieved extraordinary heights. Serving the nation for a total of 34 years and 18 days in the Armed Forces of the Philippines, he tirelessly guarded our sovereignty in Kalayaan Island on the West Philippine Sea, fought insurgents in Mindanao for 18 years, and held positions such as AFP Chief of Staff, Commandant of the Philippine Marines, and Superintendent of the Philippine Military Academy.”

Biazon served as senator for three terms and as congressman for two terms.

“Transitioning into politics, he continued to serve the Filipino people with the same passion and integrity. Elected three times as a Senator and twice as a Congressman, he fearlessly fought for the rights and welfare of our fellow citizens,” Mayor Biazon said of his dad.

According to him, “But beyond his remarkable achievements, he remained the simple man who knows how it feels to be ordinary. His compassion, kindness, and love for our family and fellow Filipinos were evident in every aspect of his life.”

“To me, to mama, and my siblings, he’s the leader of our family, the teacher, the guide, the adviser, the defender, the provider, the role model, the cheerleader, the shoulder to cry on, the source of inspiration, the enforcer of discipline, the taskmaster, the caregiver, and many other roles that he performs for his family. #SalamatTatang,” he said.

Biazon will be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani June 20.
