Caraga cops net P154,000 shabu in 1 day

CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Suspected shabu worth P153,600 was seized in anti-illegal drug operations in the Caraga region on Friday, June 16. Police Regional Office-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said that a high-value individual (HVI) yielded 20 grams of shabu value at P136,000 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lipata, Surigao City at 7:30 p.m. conducted by the Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU),  Surigao City Police Station, Soccoro Municipal Police Station (MPS), and Philippine Air Force 301 1st Counter-intelligence Squadron. The Butuan City Police Office (BCPO)-DEU arrested a street-level individual (SLI) for possession of one gram of shabu worth P6,800 while the Cabadbaran City Police Station (CCPS) arrested an SLI for a gram of shabu. In Surigao del Sur, the Cantilan MPS arrested another SLI and seized .588 grams of shabu valued at P3,998.4 from his possession. All SLIs were arrested through implementation of search warrants. Suspects were placed in the custody of arresting units for proper disposition. “They (all arrested suspects) will be charged with violation of RA No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” Labra said. “In line with my Project Thrust D.A.D.D.I which includes relentless fight against illegal drugs and the chief PNP's Five-Focused Agenda particularly on aggressive and honest law enforcement operations, PNP-Caraga has kept the momentum in supply and demand reduction of illegal drugs,” said Labra. “The drug war continues, without let up until the last suspect falls."
