BI nabs American wanted in US during joint operations with FBI in Manila


In a joint operation with international law enforcement agencies, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) has apprehended a wanted American fugitive who allegedly threatened to harm a politician and his associate.

He was identified as 39-year-old William Robert Braddock III and was discovered to be an undocumented alien.

Based on the BI report, he has an arrest warrant issued by the United States District Court for the Middle District Court of Florida.

Braddock is wanted for violating Section 875 of the United States Code, specifically for Interstate Transmission of Threat to Injure.

It was reported that he had made threatening phone calls targeting an unnamed American politician and his associate.

The operation was carried out by the BI Fugitive Search Unit (FSU), working in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the US Diplomatic Security Service-Overseas Criminal Investigations.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco expressed his appreciation for the BI's efforts in apprehending fugitives like Braddock, saying"foreign fugitives are not welcome on Philippine soil."

Chief Rendel Ryan Sy of the FSU reported that after extensive surveillance, Braddock was located along Roxas Boulevard by their operatives and was promptly arrested and brought to the BI's detention facility in Taguig City where he will remain until his deportation.
